A Note From The Founder

I started Bessou to share the Japanese flavors I grew up with. Inspired by my mother’s home cooking and my own Japanese American upbringing in New York, Bessou began as a neighborhood restaurant where comfort, community, and creativity came together.

Today, Bessou has grown beyond four walls into a multi-channel brand, but the heart of it remains the same. Whether it’s a chicken sando at the Pier, popcorn on the go, or a pantry staple in your kitchen, my hope is that you feel a little warmth, a little joy, and maybe even a sense of home in every bite.

Thanks for being part of our story.
